This is the long version explaining the situation at Absolute Poker.  It draws very heavily on the post by Twoplustwo user "Apefish," made here on 22 September.  Very little of it was written by me, but rather, represents an effort by a whole bunch of people to reveal the situation.  The number of people who contributed are too many to mention.

People are encouraged to interpret the data for themselves instead of taking anyone's word for it. That makes for good debate. If you come across something you don't quite understand, feel free to ask and I'll add it to a list of Frequently Asked Questions.

Security Flaw At Absolute Poker

Shortly after a recent software upgrade at Absolute Poker, several accounts with suspicious names and identical maniacal playing styles sat down at the highest-stakes games offered there, where tens of thousands of dollars change hands every hour.  Established high-stakes online players quickly noticed these "maniac" players at the tables, and lined up to get a chance to take their money.

Another hand...

Much of the debate is between two schools of thought.  One group of people think it is cheating, and another group of people think that it is just normal variance with the alleged cheaters just getting lucky. I think it is obvious in the thread that many respected higher stakes players whom nobody would think could talk about accusations like this lightly/are in fact quite convinced something is not right. I'll name Adanthar, Schneids, and ikestoys, among others.
